Had a very dodgy TV stand in my bedroom, wife and I had to prop ourselves up with pillows if we wanted to watch TV in bed. Wasn't too comfy, so I made this. In all it took about 15 hours to build this includes material recovery from the pallets, planning the project, building and finishing. Only costs for the project were for Handles, Hinges, screws and some nails, everything else I had sitting around the shed. I used about six pallets for the best choice pieces of wood; the wood had been quite a weather damaged as they'd been sitting out in the elements for a couple of months. In all pretty happy with the project as a whole.

After measuring at the customer house, we agreed to create a very long TV stand (4 meters!), with very simple and contemporary form. The practical side was not skimp because drawers will be installed. To add storage, a wall cabinet with a door was chosen to stay in a cubical and contemporary spirit, we decided to add a "patchwork" decoration, by the provision of variable sizes of waste wood. The whole is completed by a simple shelf, with hidden fasteners, to keep an air appearance while providing an opportunity to showcase the additional decoration. Obviously, it was not possible to use 100% of the wooden pallet and the TV stand comprises a framework treated pine rafters; the bodies of drawers were made with plywood 12mm.

Our entertainment center can only really go on this one wall. Any other wall and the room is little. Trouble is there was a small rad on the wall that made all the other entertainment centres look odd. I wanted something that was going to cover the rad. Pictures tell all. Only a few bits of new 2x2 used. Wood was painted red Mahogany and the top pallets just sanded. I plan to put a light in it eventually looks great though as it is.

This is one of my first projects, so it's not complicated. I sanded each wooden panel to achieve a smooth finish. Once complete I added two coats of wood oil. The glass shelves help to make the unit light and airy.

We needed a new entertainment center that fit our TV. My husband was too busy to do this for me so I said I would do it myself. It is 99% pallet wood. One of the things I wanted to achieve was t have somewhere to hide CD's and DVD, so I added doors. Then I added lights to it and put them on a timer, so they come on at dark and off at daylight. WE LOVE IT!

I took my faux fireplace/space heater and built a custom entertainment stand/fireplace mantle around it. I started using 2x4's to build the framing of the piece around the heater. This was the most time-consuming part. It took a lot of measuring and figuring on bracing to make it sturdy and to ensure the height and width for the spot I wanted it in. I then cut a larger pine board into two sections and used as the top/mantle. I then used pallet wood to cover the outsides. I chose nails versus screws to blend into the wood better. A pair of clamps you can get at Lowe's is very helpful here if you are doing the project solo to hold boards in place while nailing on the other side. I then used longer pallet boards to make the trim on the front and sides. Then staining with a dark and red stain on the trim for contrast completed the piece. I then took the TV stand from my old center and using braced 2x4's on the back screwed the bracket and rails into those braces to hold the TV over the stand itself. All together this project took about 30 or so hours working each night after work to complete.

For this project, I used all of one pallet and two 2x4's we had lying around the house. Most of it I did myself, but I did get my uncle's help with parts I was unsure of. I spent over three days working on it, but it was probably only a 8-hour project.

I bought a hi-fi system and I wanted to place it in the room in a nice way, so I made my first pallet creation - a table for the whole thing and at the same time I wanted the speakers to have stands of their own - here is the result :)

This was my old fireplace (95 cm wide), with the creation of a larger frame (120cm) with slatted base (reclaimed) to host the recycled pallet boards . The idea is to hang the TV; I wanted to hide cables and a location for the CD / DVD. I also created the furniture that welcomes 3D surround, game console and three baskets I use as drawer (those bought from Ikea). Total cost: 50$ or 60 euros and Madame is in heaven;)

Made this to replace the current free-standing low boy unit. Started off dismantling pallets and destressing them buy beating them with a chain, hammer, etc. Then applying colour washes, sanding, and staining. Repeat until satisfied with the result. The chimney was constructed with framing timber with MDF used to make the shelves for the receiver etc. to sit on. Then covered in black painted ply wood to conceal any gaps as pellet wood is not always true. Attached the pallets with finishing nails starting around the shelving as that is where your eye is drawn to when sitting in front. One side has shelving for blue rays, and CDs while down the left side is a concealed door so you can get in behind it to connect everything up. The hardest part was hanging the door to try and minimize any gaps and to close flush so you wouldn't know there was a door there. 1st attempt at anything like this so took me four weekends to work through and complete but we'll worth it. Sets the room off and gives it a bit of wow factor.
